I can't believe...

...that this is the last post of 2019.

The entire decade is ending, we're being flung into 2020...

And this is what I come up with for a post.

Narrator: "Unfortunately, her boobs were that big."
 A sexy Sarah.

...

This is why people are usually disappointed in me, I think.

You know, it's been a great year.
I'm being honest.

I mean, everything's come so far.

From the first few posts of this blog, aaalll the way back in January, to now, I think my art's changed a decent bit.

Of course, that means I've changed quite a bit as well.

But I don't think I'll get into all of that here.

I honestly didn't expect the planet to even survive, with all the shit happening to it.
Like, legit, once everyone realized that "oh shit global warming/climate change/whatever-the-hell-else-it's-being-called is a bigger deal than we thought", and when anti-vax became even hotter of a trend than it was last year, I gave it about... maybe half the year, generously.
But, here we are, December 31st of 2019, and the earth hasn't been totally vapourized like I expected, so hey. Maybe we are fixing the planet, and just not telling everyone about it.

I also didn't expect to actually turn Emmasworld into this whole, like, thing.
I just thought it'd be one of those "hey look, I drew some characters" sorts of things, but here we are, and I've got Slime Climb in the works (and if Sarah's voice actor would finish the recordings for their lines, then I could maybe have a release date of sometime in 2020 or something like that.).

I guess I should show the sketch of the drawing, hm?

Just like the last one, I sketched it out, traced it in pen, took a picture with my iPad, sent it to myself with a messaging app, then saved it to my MacBook.
If you look up at the very top of the notebook page, if you can actually tell, I was trying to draw an Emmasworld logo-y thing.

I failed.

And so I tried to erase it but I didn't wanna accidentally crumple the page or something.

But yeah. This year's been wild, hell, the entirety of the 2010s has been wild as fuck.

One of the most fun things though, in my opinion, was Inktober.
I think I said a lot more about it in the actual Inktober posts though, so ya know.

Well, anyways, I guess I'll see you all next decade. [ba-dum-tssh]

Really though, when the next post comes up, regardless of what it is, it'll be in 2020, so I'll see you there!

Bye for now!

Ayy, more shit

I think the best part of this is the boobs. Butt... then again, I think the best part of life in general is boobs.
Yes, I do actually art, I swear.
Just takes two-thousand-and-thirty-two years.

Fun fact: I actually had to draw this in Krita rather than my totally legit copy of ToonBoom Harmony because I'm using my MacBook, so that's why the lines aren't as... I guess smooth and vector-y...? as the other post.

Also, I dug out the Intuos tablet after like, forever, because the MacBook I got for Christmas this year is actually the one without the ports to plug shit into. (I mean, at least it has a headphone jack.)

So I had to kinda sorta figure out the Intuos again.

...I kinda miss using my Cintiq, now that I think about it.

You know, as an artist, one of the tips that everyone, and I mean everyone swears by is "shade in purple and set the layer with the purple to 'multiply' because it looks better", and for years I just shaded with black, or went through the effort of making layers for each colour of the drawing and then shading in a darker version of the colour that the layer I was on was for.
You might be wondering why.
The answer is because, well, I tried this once in Photoshop, and it didn't work as well as I hoped, so I had deleted the entire shading layer and vowed to never shade my art with that specific tip again.
Apparently it's a different layer blending mode for each program, as I've learned today by accidentally setting it to the "Luminosity" setting/mode/whatever the hell rather than the "Multiply" one, and it looks better than I expected it to.

And yes, my artstyle is, in fact, slowly starting to lose the whole "No noses but a giant lip because that happened sometimes in Eddsworld and I thought it looked super cool but I wanted to draw it all the time for some reason" thing that I did.

The nose, despite not being the whacky lip thing, still looks like you could shank a bitch with it, though.

I'll have to fix that shit later, lol.

This image was taken on an iPad. Then I sent it to myself over a message app, then downloaded it onto my MacBook.
Really not much to say about this besides "it is the sketch".

The sketch sucks, my handwriting is weird as fuck, that's all you need to know about this image.

And yes, I really did sketch this out on the 27th. It just took me a while to actually finish the full drawing because, well, ya know. It's art. And that shit takes forever.

Snow

Look. Snow. It's December. I have also completely forgotten how to do backgrounds (but at least the people look sorta okay)
The title says everything. It's snow. And there's people in it.

I actually did the sketch to this at like two in the morning, and then had to take a picture of the sketch, then import that image into my totally legit install of ToonBoom Harmony 17.

And then I did the whole drawing in one day because it's December 11th and I have to make something winter themed before the month is over and then everyone's focused on spring and shit again.

Monday, December 2, 2019

Man, it feels great to finally draw humans again.

After a very long sort of pause in my art, then Inktober, then another long pause because I was glad to procrastinate again, and then a bit where I only drew humans that one time, I have finally drawn a human again!

she attac, her arm cracc, but most importantly, she bacc.
And yeah, I know I completely fucked up the arms and the tail, lol.
Probably the shadin' too.
It's hard to draw humans when you're just now getting back to doin' that, ya know!

What do I even put here?

I have not been active on my blog in a billion years I swear-

Fun fact: while drawing this, I had to look at the grass to figure out which side I was currently working on, because it was the only bit that I fucked up on, so you can see sort of a split in the grass.
See if you can spot the birds in the trees! :3

[Insert witty joke here]

The actual image itself
The only part of the image that looks good in my opinion.

Killed my right hand doin' this BG, lol.

Inktober still has me slightly panicking about what to post and it's already far enough into November that I should be used to this year's Inktober bein' over, lol.

But the blog isn't dead, I'm just happy to finally be able to procrastinate, lmao.

Saturday, November 9, 2019

Hey look, I still have trouble titleing things!

Gah why does the shading look so good?
All jokes in the title and the little caption-y thing on the image aside, I like how this turned out.

However, at first, that wasn't the case.

See, the original sketch for this image had everyone laying on the ground instead. (I actually used an image of myself as reference).
But a little spark of brilliance (or stupidity, depending on how you view it) shot through me and I was like "Hey, what if they were standing up and Eliza was just straight up defying the laws of physics?".

So, after finishing the background (which was not a simple task at all), I realize something.
Something very important.
"Wait, shit. Wasn't this supposed to be autumn or something?".

But it was too late.

I'd already done the background, and I was not going to redo all of that to make it look like autumn.
Plus I'd already finished the shading with this background in mind, and again, I didn't feel too keen on doing all of that mess again just because I had to do an entirely separate background.

So, in a tired, half-soda fueled haste, I slapped some leaves on with a brush I made in Krita, saved that shit, and called it a day.

But it was very obvious that the leaves I added were just a brush that I created out of a stock photo and the realization I could make brushes in Krita just like I could in Photoshop.

And because of that, I couldn't actually do any shading to the leaves.
If you looked at the original, titled "girlsinautmn.png" (and yes, spelled just like that), the leaves actually collected into this sort of mass of chaotic tree-toppings because I guess I didn't set a certain brush setting or something like that.

I had already saved this, but with the leaves, so I couldn't go back and edit it.
Until...
I remembered I actually had a backup on this little USB drive. (What do you kids call 'em these days? Flash drives? Thumb drives? Pen drives? USB Sticks?).
And so once again, backups prove to be the saviour of all!

Moral of the story? Back your shit up somewhere, in case the final result ends up looking like complete garbage after you change one thing about it.

Inktober 31

Well, this is it. The first image of Emmasworld, redrawn to be the last Inktober image.
I know the fucked up eye on Emma is looking in the same direction the normal one is, and the little picture hanging on the wall doesn't feature ears on younger Emma. I hadn't yet figured everything out about the whole demon catgirl with wings thing when I drew this. (It was July 13th, if you're curious).

You know, it's kinda unfortunate that the month of October is so short. Thanksgiving is next month and I can't deal with all the reminders that "Christmas is really soon, Lance! Santa's watchin' you!" and the fact that the elves on shelves are all going to be active, along with our Grinch on the... shelf. Grinch in a pinch? I dunno.

I really enjoyed Inktober, and I wish there was one for December, at the very least. Besides those "Countdown to [Holiday that takes place in December]" things, but those don't really count in my opinion. December sucks snowballs. Maybe we could make it suck less by summoning Satan? Just... I don't like December, ya know?

Original redraw-y thing:
The background came later, because I needed something for the original title animation (which was gonna be a direct ripoff of the Eddsworld title animation)
Jeez, I'm really proud of this. Maybe it's just 'cause it's the first one. I was still callin' Sarah and Mary "that one with the weird chin" (which was Mary) or "that blonde one" (Sarah, obviously)!

I don't think, that if you asked me a year ago, what I thought I'd do with this, that I'd respond with "Redraw it for a drawing challenge but then make the wings and stuff canon later!". I also don't think I'd respond "Emma has a crush on Sarah and they both know it but Sarah's straight so they'll never be together" if you asked me who was in love with who.

I remember distinctly, that in my little notebook with a flamingo in it, there's a page where I tried to use it as a diary. It was the first time I tried animation, and the spark for the rest of the series being an animated cartoon. I said "I didn't plan to get this far with my series, but lack of internet does some strange things". The reason for this is, well, one of the local internet providers (can't remember if it was Verizon or Service Electric) decided to cut our internet access and we had to switch to the other. During this, I could not use bases or anything, so I did the next best thing, which just so happened to be animation. I'd, thankfully, already been practicing in Macromedia Flash 8, which meant it was already on my computer. (Although the animation, was the later version (which was only a direct ripoff where the characters introduction lyrics were animated, and the lyrics were synonyms and there was no Eliza), was a bit ambitious, considering my skills boil down to "I can animate balls bouncing!").

Original screenshot:
This is one of those rare times a Legacy episode was half-decent.
I could rant forever about how good of an episode Mirror Mirror was, but I could do similar rants about how great Saloonatics or PowerEdd were.

Here's where the hint for the next one would go. Shame I won't get to do that again this year.

Oh well. I guess I better start work on the stuff I'll post for the coming holidays.

Had a great time, even though I panicked a bit when I couldn't get stuff done in time for each day.

I'll see you all in the next post!

Inktober 30

It's a goddamn shame these two aren't ever gonna be a couple in canon.
Emma's got like, a derpy expression goin' on with her eyes which I didn't notice until after finishing this 'cause I didn't see anything wrong with it, 'cause her fucked up eye is stuck in place, and then I finished and I was like "Jeez that's a derpy expression".

Original redraw:
This is fuckin' ancient. I mean, I hadn't even pirated obtainted Photoshop perfectly legally yet!
Aaaaa jeez this one sucks you can even see the difference in the lines on the base and the fact I drew the hair in Microsoft Paint with a goddamned trackpad.

Original screenshot:

             [Sorry, don't have it!]

Hint for the next one: Well, all things eventually end, right? Even Inktober, as sad as it might seem. But don't worry! I'll try this again next year! :)

Inktober 29

It's technically the first comic and not the first comic at the same time! It's a paradox!
But really, it is the first comic I drew of Emmasworld (in fact I have the original in one of my older notebooks), and I thought "What better way to do one of the last images of Inktober than to do redraws of really old stuff?"

The original's from 2018, I believe sometime in summer? Maybe winter? Since it's the first comic, I'm leaning towards the former, as from what I remember, the first Emmasworld image was done August 2018, and I was still using bases! This one was entirely original though (as stated before, I have it in one of my notebooks, and it looks kinda crappy).

The original joke was four panels long, where Emma goes "Ooh! A giant cupcake!" and Sarah goes "Emma! Wait! That's not real!" (those two were left unchanged here), and there's a panel of her looking like "Oh no." (again, kept here), and then the final panel is her looking at the cupcake and saying "So... should I finish it?" (the panel I removed). I think it's better in just three panels, but I will probably upload the original sometime in the future just in case anyone thinks the four panel version was funny.

Hint for the next one: I'll have to go digging to find another old thing to redraw, probably. Lol!

Inktober 28

I can just feel the Dear Starboy jokes from here.
You know, I actually drew this one first. Then the daytime one, then the sunset one.

Hint for the next one: Another one of those times where I don't have anything being worked on to hint towards, lol.

Sunday, October 27, 2019

Inktober 27

I'm pretty sure I accidentally added too much blue. I was just goin' off my memory, since I didn't wanna have to wait 'til actually sunset to reference for a drawing, lol.

Hint for the next one: What comes right after the sun finishes setting? That's the next one!

Saturday, October 26, 2019

Inktober 26

The sun's up! There's some birds that I totally didn't just copy-paste flying! And I spent effort on those clouds!

I still can't get over how this looks so good! And I usually hate what I draw when I'm done, lol.

Hint for the next one: It's technically cheating, since I already had the orange bit of the gradient done, but the sun'll be setting in the next image!

Friday, October 25, 2019

Inktober 25

Okay, I'll admit it. This was supposed to have rain and there wasn't gonna be a flower. But I was listening to the song "Friendship and Flowers" (one of the songs in Princess Promenade) and ya know.
When this post pops up, it'll be like 9 AM. But currently, it's 6 AM and I am definitively gonna go to bed and get some much-needed sleep.

Hint for the next one: Too tired to think up something witty to put here.

Thursday, October 24, 2019

Inktober 24

It looks so good for such old art! And that's the issue!
Sorry! Another old image. I just can't seem to finish things on time, lol.

Hint for the next one: Hopefully I can get what I was workin' on done for tomorrow instead, lol.

Wednesday, October 23, 2019

Inktober 23

There was gonna be more to this image but I can't art after I spent all my effort drawing this on those fucking wings, lol.
I had to make my own fucking brush in Krita for the grass aghh

Also, disproportionately large clouds in the background are disproportionately large.

The original backstory to the fucked up ear and face was "Oh yeah she fought an actual cat because catgirl got territorial" and the new backstory is- sorry, not revealing that bit yet!

She's supposed to be like, just about to actually start flying here, if it isn't obvious, lol.

Hint for the next one: I like screwing around in Krita to make light and grass and clouds and stuff. So probably more stuff like, set outside, lol. Possibly gonna attempt drawing rain? I dunno, lol.

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

Inktober 22

More old stuff.
Sorry, the image I planned to post isn't done yet!

I like this one though, even if it's like, super duper old n' stuff, lol.

Original screenshot:

[Again, I don't have it. Sorry! Please let me know if you know which screenshot I used!]

Monday, October 21, 2019

Inktober 21

I had (key word there is had) a version without the watermark, but I can't remember where I backed it up to.
I didn't wanna have to pull a drawing (which I, fortunately, don't think I've shown before) from my Drive folders, especially since I've just had this laying around, deemed unimportant because I have newer art, but it's the 21st Inktober thing and I didn't have anything ready.

And I know it's old as hell, but damn I'm proud of it, lol.

Original screenshot:

[Don't have it. But if you do, let me know!]

Hint for the next one: Well, just keep waitin'. I'm startin' to kinda sorta run out of ideas, lol.

Sunday, October 20, 2019

Inktober 20

I swear after this I'm never gonna draw wings again holy shit-
Ya know, this actually started as me messing around in the sketch to a screenshot redraw, but then I was like "I wanna do more silly sketches" and this happened.

Hint for the next one: I dunno, lol.

Saturday, October 19, 2019

Inktober 19

I told you it'd be edgy.
Took forever 'cause I kept fallin' asleep (I've got a cold so I'm like, super tired).

Original screenshot:
This is the most blood you'll ever see in a Legacy screenshot.
Literally the only thing I traced was the cliff, the road, and the robot head. And even then it's all different, lol.

Hint for the next one: I dunno. I'm sick as hell, I can't think, lol.

Friday, October 18, 2019

Inktober 18

I literally traced some bits straight from the original. Fun fact by the way: That animation I was gonna do that I decided to scrap? I used the sketch from this (with a few minor changes) for it.
Feel free to use this in shitposts where they end up in like, The End (Which one? Eddsworld, or Minecraft? Doesn't matter.) or some shit like that. (I've actually done this before, and the description makes it clear it was gonna be released in Inktober.)

And the old version of this:
I couldn't do the hair thing some artists do because I guess the brush for that is a Paint Tool SAI exclusive brush...? In any case that didn't stop me from trying.
I guess use it as a wallpaper? It's fuckin' old and looks like shit compared to the other shit I've drawn.

Original screenshot:

[I don't have it right now, sorry! If you do find the original screenshot, let me know!]

Hint for the next one:  I dunno. Maybe somethin' edgy?

Thursday, October 17, 2019

Inktober 17

I really like doin' redraws n' stuff.

Redraw of the redraw:
I mean, at least I got the shading figured out kinda? And the new designs of the characters make the fusions even sillier and cuter, to be honest. Also I just noticed I didn't shade Saremma and it makes her look so different but ya know. I think I just should have maybe not shaded this. 'Cause there's really no way to look at this and be like "yeah, better than the original" besides maybe the updated designs.

Redraw:
Gah! Now I know what I forgot on the redraw of this! Messing around with the blur! In my opinion, this one's better because of messin' with the blur and the messy shading. Even though I did this one in Photoshop rather than Krita, lol.
Original screenshot:
Yeah, you can tell the first redraw was literally just a trace of this.

Hint for the next one: I showed this one in a YouTube video before. Not a speededit. It was a Startup Effects video. The newest one (as of October 2019) in the Startup Effects series-y thing.

Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Inktober 16

It's finally mcfucking done! xD
Original:
Again, all credit for this goes to Hasbro, lol.

Hint for the next one: Eddsworld screenshot? Nah, I think you mean Emmasworld art. Lol!

Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Inktober 15

Look at these precious beans. I love them. :3
I always love drawing these two. Also drawing Emma is fun too.

Original:
No, I don't ship these two just because I used them for Aria and Silver.

Hint for the next one: Ever seen the animation for the intro theme? It shows one character each, then the full image. This is sorta like that. one character each, then the full thing, lol.

Monday, October 14, 2019

Inktober 14

Agh why is she so pure and adorable?
And, the bit from the title sequence thingeridoo:

I'm... pretty sure Applejack's supposed to look happy or something? I dunno, they don't really have faces, lol.

Hint for the next one: I almost never draw these two separately. Also one has the same first name of the villains of Rainbow Rocks, funnily enough.

Sunday, October 13, 2019

Inktober 13

Lookin' like a motherfuckin' emoji over here with that face. And yes, her wings are the older design (seen here, here, and here.)

And the original:
Ya know, I find it kinda funny that FiM ended when it had so many fans. Anyways this one's Fluttershy.

Hint for the next one: She's a scientist. (No, not Twilight Sparkle. She sucks. Her pose was used for someone else, anyway.)

Saturday, October 12, 2019

Inktober 12

What's she so concerned about? You'll never know!
And the original:

Rarity's thinking about fashion. (Seriously Hasbro please don't sue me)

Hint for the next one: More of the same, lol.

Friday, October 11, 2019

Inktober 11

Soo... I did this a while back:
Original base can be found here
It looks kinda weird in my opinion. Then again, I didn't draw the base, I only added the hair and colours.

So anyways, I redrew it with the human forms of the character (instead of the pony forms that were on the base):
Shit took forever and it's all in various shades of pink.
And I would like to personally thank my main image editing/drawing program, Krita, for deciding to pull a Google Chrome and consume enough RAM to absolutely kill my computer, thus forcing me to finish this in Microsoft Paint. Thankfully, I just had to add the background in Paint because I'd already done most of this in Krita, lol.

Also, the original image:
Well, original section of image. It's from the Rainbow Rocks title theme animation. Sooo... this portion of image is copyrighted by Hasbro, I'm just using it as a sorta reference for the artstyle ('cause why not?), and if anyone from Hasbro is reading this, please don't sue me I'm too young to go to court.
I'll have to put this, and the rest of the images together in Paint probably. Thanks, Krita. Lol!

Hint for the next one: More of this. If Krita would mcfucking let me, that is.

Thursday, October 10, 2019

Inktober 10

Not gonna lie, I literally just mirrored his head and redrew the face after that because I was rushing.
Is it the 31st yet?
[checks calendar]
Hmm...
Only the 10th?
Well shit.

Welcome to hell. Population: microsoft paint drawings.

Hint for the next one: I'm running out of ideas and oh my arceus why did I decide to do Inktober?-I mean... Hey! Look forward to another redraw!

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

Inktober 9

It feels like Aria's judging me for rushing this.
Even though I rushed it, this was fun to draw. Maybe it's because it's Aria looking disappointed-ish at something, lol.

Hint for the next one: At this point, why should I bother with the hints? I know damned well I'm probably not gonna follow it because I was too busy procrastinating earlier in the day and I'll half-ass something a little bit before the day ends or something like that.

Monday, October 7, 2019

Inktober 7

It's 2019. I still don't have a good title, lol.
And yeah, I know I forgot to colour the scratches on Emma's face, lol. Ignore that. I coloured this in Microsoft Paint because I wasn't gonna finish this in time for today if I coloured it in Krita.

The original:
"I don't have a good title lol.png" Pretty fitting. What do ya title this? Lol.
Goodness, it's actually improved a bunch since I first did the base edit, lol. And yeah, I know some of the poses are different. Deal with it, 'cause I didn't wanna make it exact, lol.

Hint for the next one: Seriously, redraws are fun.
