Well, this is it. The first image of Emmasworld, redrawn to be the last Inktober image. |
You know, it's kinda unfortunate that the month of October is so short. Thanksgiving is next month and I can't deal with all the reminders that "Christmas is really soon, Lance! Santa's watchin' you!" and the fact that the elves on shelves are all going to be active, along with our Grinch on the... shelf. Grinch in a pinch? I dunno.
I really enjoyed Inktober, and I wish there was one for December, at the very least. Besides those "Countdown to [Holiday that takes place in December]" things, but those don't really count in my opinion. December sucks snowballs. Maybe we could make it suck less by summoning Satan? Just... I don't like December, ya know?
Original redraw-y thing:
The background came later, because I needed something for the original title animation (which was gonna be a direct ripoff of the Eddsworld title animation) |
I don't think, that if you asked me a year ago, what I thought I'd do with this, that I'd respond with "Redraw it for a drawing challenge but then make the wings and stuff canon later!". I also don't think I'd respond "Emma has a crush on Sarah and they both know it but Sarah's straight so they'll never be together" if you asked me who was in love with who.
I remember distinctly, that in my little notebook with a flamingo in it, there's a page where I tried to use it as a diary. It was the first time I tried animation, and the spark for the rest of the series being an animated cartoon. I said "I didn't plan to get this far with my series, but lack of internet does some strange things". The reason for this is, well, one of the local internet providers (can't remember if it was Verizon or Service Electric) decided to cut our internet access and we had to switch to the other. During this, I could not use bases or anything, so I did the next best thing, which just so happened to be animation. I'd, thankfully, already been practicing in Macromedia Flash 8, which meant it was already on my computer. (Although the animation, was the later version (which was only a direct ripoff where the characters introduction lyrics were animated, and the lyrics were synonyms and there was no Eliza), was a bit ambitious, considering my skills boil down to "I can animate balls bouncing!").

This is one of those rare times a Legacy episode was half-decent. |
Here's where the hint for the next one would go. Shame I won't get to do that again this year.
Oh well. I guess I better start work on the stuff I'll post for the coming holidays.
Had a great time, even though I panicked a bit when I couldn't get stuff done in time for each day.
I'll see you all in the next post!
