When you redesign an old character (NOT an early April Fools joke, I promise!)

Well, I had an old character named "Soda Fizz". Initially starting out as a Littlest Pet Shop character,

Drawing courtesy of Sicily, we were really young, and this is what Fizz looked like in her style. I'd say I had some of my art style, but she made a base of a cat and I just used it for Sodas initial design.

she later became a My Little Pony character. I can't seem to find any pictures from the "upload" button on my blog.

Now, with that short history on Soda Fizz, I present to you...

Rose Fizz Soda! Although, her nickname is "Fizzy." I forgot the eyebrows.

Her human redesign!
Made on Ubuntu 18.04 (Bionic Beaver, cool internal/code name, I know. Not my name for it though.), on a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series, using a Wacom Intuos graphics tablet and the Krita photo editor. Actually sketched her up in one of my notebooks, but didn't color it. Here's a colored version I guess.

The signature looks different from when I sign on the HP, that's because I don't have the brush file for it on here. Had to hand-sign this shit.

I actually was listening to "Better Than Ever", that one Rainbow Rocks song, and it's kinda ironic, considering I've got a cold. I feel miserable, not better than ever. I stopped sounding as sick as I did, but I have been sniffling and coughing and sneezing for a while now. Fucking sucks having a cold.

Well, I'll see you in the next post, I'm NOT going to do an April Fools joke post, probably just a "here's the pranks my family did" list, and I hope you have a good, jumpscare-free April Fools!

Can't tell what version looks better, the original or my trace. I forgot to back up my brushes after I had to reinstall Photoshop, so I lost Mary's shoe pattern brush. Next image should have the pattern on her shoes back. I'm a bit tired, so excuse me for forgetting it!

This was so much fun to draw!

I should do more shading, but nah.

Hoodies and hair dye.

Who wants to go kitten shopping with me?

The reason I'm holding my hair is so you can actually see the blue since according to the screen I'm using and probably the webcam as well, it matched the hoodie. My glasses broke (stupid freakin dollar store frames. 😒) so this was actually really hard to take since I wasn't super duper close to the screen, lol! Yes, those are My Little Pony coloring pages in the background. Yes, they are colored to be Emmasworld instead.

My room's been updated a bit, so that's why the computer chair is behind me. I got the desk from the playroom since my parents are going to build a wall to make it like a dining room or something like that.

I took a couple different versions of this picture, because webcam positioning is hard when you don't have the original display to the computer (or the back panel piece, lol).

If you ever wanted a TrueType Font of my handwriting, here it is!

I know someday far off in the future people are downloading this like crazy because they wanna see the messy handwriting (or, well, mousewriting) from years ago. It probably won't change anytime soon though. It installs under "Handwriting" because apparently instead of the font family that was the internal name.

Created using Calligraphr for the initial generation, and all the font info was added with FontForge.

TL;DR I made a font and FontForge is hard.



EDIT: Added preview picture that I whipped up in Microsoft Paint. Took a bit since I kinda forgot how MS Paint worked, lol.

I fixed something instead of breaking something for once!

So I fixed the old laptop and the new/repaired Asus (red one) is coming back soon or something.

The hard drive I was going to use turned out to be the one with the 30-something GB pictures folder (both drives are Western Digital 500GB drives) and I thought it was the right one up until it booted up and I saw, in order, Administrator, [me], Troubleshooting, and Standard. Now, the first one is the default admin account, built in, always running, basically the handler for admin-access and the like. The second is my account (obviously) and it still had the Mettaton sprite from my Mettaton phase in life. Troubleshooting was well, exactly what it sounds. And Standard was just to complete the set.

And then it turned out the display was probably broken so I had to take the back panel off the computer and basically I made a DIY desktop computer out of a laptop without a screen, and a Sylvania TV that I got for Valentines Day one year. Also, sorry for the lack of art. First I couldn't think up what to draw, then the computer breaks, then I draw a screenshot trace (multiple actually) and possibly finalized the designs for the neighbor-rival-clones while I played Tomodachi Life on a 3DS. 

But yeah. TL;DR: Computers r fun when you troubleshoot them more than you draw on them.
